From 
 8.2.0.0, the Platform database of SAP HANA has TLS/SSL enabled for communications between the Platform and the SAP HANA database. When performing a new installation of with SAP HANA selected as the Platform database, you will have to enable TLS/SSL on the SAP HANA database itself and configure the install.xml file with the credentials and certificates for the TLS/SSL connection.Â

For older installations upgrading to 8.2.0.0, you will be required to enable the TLS/SSL on your SAP HANA database immediately after performing the Platform upgrade.

When downgrading from 8.2.0.0, you will also be required to disable the TLS/SSL on your SAP HANA database before rolling back the 8.2 upgrade.
