Usage Engine includes the capabilities that allow users to monitor stream execution and raise e-mail notifications in case the configured condition is detected.This feature is described as Notification Group. This is a managed notification service that only require users to configure the notification recipients email address.With the configured Notification Group (consists of one or multiple email addresses), users could attach it on  streams and configure the preference condition to be notified.

There are 2 types of notification available.

  • Send email when no file is found.
    • Normally, this notification is configured when we expect the scheduled stream will always process data whenever it is being executed.
    • Simply put, if the stream started but no data source available to be collected and processed, then the notification will trigger.
  • Send email when stream fails.
    • This notification is recommended to be configured as we do not expect running stream aborted abnormally.Otherwise,this might impact the billing process and create huge data backlog.
    • Once configured, running streams that result in “Failed”status will trigger the notification.
