The HiCAP agent collects data from an Automatic Message Account Transmitter (AMAT) using the High Capacity AMATPS (Automatic Message Account Teleprocessing) API over an RPC interface.

HiCAP Collection Overview

The data is collected via primary or secondary AMA data files. A primary AMA data file contains AMA blocks not previously sent and acknowledged by the collector. A secondary AMA data file contains AMA data previously sent by the AMAT with receipt acknowledged by the collection. Upon activation, the collector binds to the pre-defined RPC port and waits for connections to be accepted.

The UDRs generated by the HiCAP agent includes decoded connection information. The original data from the AMAT is stored in a bytearray that you can decode in an Analysis agent e g by using the APL function udrDecode. Alternatively, you can route the bytearray to a batch workflow that performs the decoding.
