1.4 Desktop Accessibility Options
provides accessibility options for you, to make working on the Desktop easier and more accommodating for all our users.
offers the following accessibility options:
- Focus indicator
- Tooltips
- Keyboard navigation and shortcut keys
- Support for screen readers
Enabling Focus Indicator on Desktop
In order to enable the focus indicator in the Desktop, you will have to enable it from the Desktop Launcher. Click on the button that sits next to the Login dialog to enable accessibility for your Desktop. Bear in mind that enabling accessibility will only affect your desktop client, other users using their own desktop client will have to enable accessibility on their own Desktop Launcher.
Note!
Only the focus indicator is enabled by the button. All other accessibility options are already available by default in your Desktop.
Clicking on the button shows the Accessibility Highlight confirmation dialog. Clicking on Yes will enable the accessibility options on the Desktop client.

Clicking on the button while the accessibility options are enabled, will prompt another Accessibility Highlight confirmation dialog to disable the accessibility options.
Focus Indicator
A focus indicator has now been added to the Desktop to make the accessibility focus area visible for you. The highlighted object or element will indicate that you have selected it and you can then interact with it using keyboard shortcuts or directional keys.
To navigate with the focus indicator, the following keys will apply:
- Use the Tab key to focus on the next element.
- Use the Shift + Tab keys to focus on the previous element.
- Use the Ctrl + Tab keys to escape from a table or object that contains nested objects or elements.
- Use the Ctrl + Shift + Tab keys to escape from a table or object that contains nested objects or elements in reverse.
- Use the Arrow keys to navigate between options in drop down menu's or between cells in a table.
Focus indicator over the Workflow Properties button. Pressing the space bar with this button highlighted will open the Workflow Properties dialog.
Focus indicator is seen in the combo box element, allowing you to interact with the combo box to select from its options.
Tool tips
Tool tips are added to certain selected objects to provide more context help. Tool tips will appear when the focus indicator highlights the element or when you mouse over an element.

Keyboard Navigation and Shortcut Keys
The Desktop allows you to navigate throughout the desktop client using keyboards and shortcut keys. Information of what keys to use will appear from the tool tips when highlighting a button or menu item.
The shortcut keys will also be listed in the drop down menu's:

Support for Screen Readers
Screen readers such as NonVisual Desktop Access will be able to read the text and tooltips of the focus indicator highlighted object or element.
