Deleting Meter Types

Meter types can be deleted when no meters are connected to them. You can do this in the Usage Metering View or by using the API. If there are meters connected to a meter type that you want to delete, you must first delete all meters associated with it before deleting the meter type itself, see API Reference for information on how to delete meter types and meters.

To delete a meter type:

1. Click on the Usage metering option in the navigation panel to the left in the Usage Engine user interface.

2. Click on the Delete button in the Action column for the meter type you want to delete in the meter type table.

   You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the meter type.

3. Click on the Delete button.

If the new settings are correctly configured, you will get a message saying that the meter type was successfully deleted.
