2.1 Menus and Buttons
Configuration Menus
The contents of the menus in the menu bar may change depending on which configuration type has been opened in the currently displayed tab. The following sections describe the standard menus for configurations. Some configuration types may have additional menus or menu items and those are described for each configuration, in this document or in the respective user guide.
The Desktop standard menus are described in 1.3 Desktop User Interface.
The File Menu
Item | Description |
Creates a new configuration that will be visible in a new tab. You can only create a configuration of the same kind as the one in the tab you are working in. To create another type of configuration, click the button in the upper left part of the Desktop window. | |
Opens a saved configuration that will be visible in a new tab. You can only open a configuration of the same kind as the one in the tab you are working in. To open another type of configuration, double-click on a configuration in the Configuration Navigator, or right-click on a configuration and then select Open Configuration(s)... . | |
Saves the configuration. After clicking Save, a dialog box opens. In the Version Comment text box, type a description of the changes that you have made, then click . This information will be visible in the Historical Configurations panel, for further information see the section below, The View Menu. Note! Every time you save a configuration, performs a validation of the configuration integrity. If the configuration is incomplete, it is saved as "invalid". An invalid configuration is either one that has not been fully configured, or one with an external dependency that is either invalid or missing. You identify invalid configurations by the red "X" on top of their application icon. | |
Select to save the configuration with a new name. Note! Use only a-z, A-Z, 0-9, "-" and "_" to name a Configuration. You can save the Configuration to a subfolder. Click the Toggle button in the Folder Selection dialog to toggle between displaying the folders with or without subfolders. The Folder Selection dialog box Note! Select to close the tab that includes the configuration. If you have not saved the current configuration before clicking Close, a pop-up message will remind you to do so. | |

Select this option to exit the Desktop. If you want to change the Desktop user, select Exit and start the Desktop again. You can then log in with the relevant user name and password in the Login dialog box. |
The Edit Menu

The View Menu
Item | Description |
Each time a configuration is saved, a new version is created. Many versions of a configuration may exist but only the last version can be modified and executed. The old versions are kept for log and rollback reasons. Select History to examine old configurations in the onfiguration tab and holds a list of all versions. Arrow buttons are used to step back and forward between the different versions. Rollback to an old version of a configuration is handled by opening and saving the old version. Configuration Buttons

The following sections describe the standard buttons for configurations. Some configuration types may have additional buttons and those will be described for each configuration, in this document or in the respective user guide.
