Once the Usage Metering solution is set up and running regularly (see Designing a Usage Metering Solution ), you can inspect your meters using theMeter Inspector . Meter Inspector will enable you to check that the Meter processor is aggregating the usage as scheduled and that the meters are updated for specific meter types. You can also use Meter Search to view a specific customer’s usage balance to answer any questions they have about their usage.

At this point, you can add new meter types with any existing category without updating your meter configuration. For more information on category and when you can use the same category for meter types see Creating Meter Types.

Meters can be added or deleted using APIs anytime before or after the stream execution is scheduled.
