Extract Database Definition Files for SAP HANA (2.3)

In case, the SAP HANA and Usage Engine are not installed on the same machine (the database may be installed on any machine within the network), the database definition files need to be transferred to the SAP HANA machine before the database is created.

  1. On the SAP HANA machine (as SAP HANA UNIX user): transfer the database-setup.tar file from the Usage Engine machine and extract the files:

    $ tar -xvf ./database-setup.tar
     
  2. Set the permissions for the extracted files:

    $ chmod -R 755 ./saphana
