1. Platform Web Interface

The Web Interface tool enables access to selected parts of the system, using a web browser. Without any additional software installed on the client, it is possible to perform the following actions.

  • Pico monitoring

  • System Log examination and filtering

  • Task monitoring, activation and deactivation

  • Workflow monitoring, activation and deactivation

  • Alarm monitoring and handling

The Web Interface resembles the user interface in terms of layout and interaction. HTML forms have very limited functionality, hence, there are differences in terms of component outlooks. Also, the HTTP protocol only offers the request/response technique. Thus, individual areas of a displayed page cannot be updated in realtime. HTML offers a meta tag that defines the complete page to be updated at given intervals.

Each page of the Web Interface displays the following information:

  • Name and IP address of the connected system
  • Logged in user
  • Main menu
  • Date/time of last successful login and used IP address

Note!

Any existing user will be able to log into the Web Interface. However, what tools the user have access to is defined in the Access Controller in the User Interface. For further information, see the Desktop User's Guide.

In order to prevent or limit framing of the Web Interface, you can configure X-Frame-Options by adding the property mz.wi.xframeoptions on cell level in the STR. For further information, see the System Administrator's Guide.
