9.81.6 MIM Agent

The MIM agent allows statistics to be created and sent as metrics to the System Insight service, which you can then visualize, e.g. in Grafana. You can also log the statistics to file instead of using System Insight. For further information on logging to file, see 8.5 Couchbase Profile.

Example workflow with a MIM agent

The Couchbase statistics that you can log include:

  • Maximum answer time
  • Average answer time
  • Number of failed CRUDS
  • Maximum lock time
  • Average lock time
  • Number of failed locks
  • Number of timed out locks

Since the MIM agent is intended for use with System Insight, there are several preparations required before you create and run your workflow with a MIM agent, and several steps required after configuring your workflow to manage System Insight.
