8. Simplified Upgrade Procedure

This chapter describes the simplified upgrade procedure . The simplified upgrade procedure does not require any intermediary upgrade steps, i e you can upgrade directly from versions prior to 7.3.

The simplified upgrade procedure can be used when downtime is not critical and you only wish to migrate configuration data. In all other cases, you should use the standard upgrade procedure. For information about the standard upgrade procedure, see chapter 6. Standard Upgrade Procedure.

Note!

This upgrade procedure is supported from  5.1 FR5 and onwards. If your system has an older version, you need to upgrade to this version before you can use this Upgrade procedure.

The upgrade procedure consists of the following steps:

  1. Getting started
  2. Preparations
  3. Shut down Platform and Execution
  4. System Installation
  5. Desktop installation
  6. Restore configurations
