  1. Verify that the version is on 8.0 or later. You can check the current version by opening the About window in the Desktop, where you can see which pico version the Platform is running on.
     

  2. If the system is running on a version earlier than 8.0, it needs to be upgraded to any of the later versions before the upgrade to version 9.x.
     

  3. Read the upgrade instructions carefully and make sure you understand all the steps.
     

  4. Read the Release Notes for each version in order to understand the new features for each release
