This section describes the AFT/TCP agent. This is a collection agent for batch workflow configurations.

Prerequisites

The reader of this information should be familiar with:

  • The Nortel DMS-GSP with EIU and AFT functionality

  • Standard TCP/IP

The AFT/TCP Agent allows files from Nortel DMS-GSP switches with EIU and AFT functionality to be collected and inserted into a workflow, using the TCP/IP protocol. An AFT/TCP agent does not communicate directly with a Nortel switch. Instead there is an EIU service in between, responsible for keeping track of all transactions.

When the workflow is activated, the agent connects to the EIU service and awaits data packets on a predefined port to arrive from the DMS-GSP switch. The AFT/TCP agent may not be combined with other collectors in the same workflow.
