Caution!

Create secret button disabled

You cannot create a new secret because the Create secret button is disabled as part of the deprecation of secret wallets. Existing secrets remain functional and can still be edited and deleted. Use Global parameters to manage authentication credentials going forward.

Note!

Existing secrets cannot be migrated automatically to Global parameters, so you must recreate and manage your existing secrets in Global parameters, update the function authentication references, and follow the steps in Migrating Secret wallets to Global parameters.

For details on the migration window, see Change notice for Secret wallet and execution of Global parameters.

With the Secrets wallet, you can securely store and manage your passwords/credentials. These secrets can then be added to the functions within your streams using the Stream editor. This allows your function to connect to external systems and applications to collect or forward data without requiring credentials to be entered into the function, reducing the risk of exposure. Furthermore, storing credentials in the Secrets wallet makes it easier to reuse them across multiple streams.

For example, if you have an AWS secret, you can add it to your Secrets wallet and then select the secret by using the Secrets wallet toggle button in the configuration of the AWS S3 function.
