Data correction

Data correction

Data correction is available in all solutions. You use it to collect and modify invalid records so they can be reprocessed in a stream. When a stream processes data, records that fail validation against the rules configured in the Validate function are sent to Data correction for further investigation. For more information about validation rules, see Validate.

Once a record is available in Data correction, you can correct, reprocess, or delete it. When corrected records are reprocessed, they are sent back to the Validate function and re-validated. If no validation rule fails, the records are processed further in the stream.

You can configure email notifications to be sent to specified recipients whenever a new record is sent to Data correction. Logs are generated whenever records are sent to and reprocessed from Data correction. Records in Data correction are grouped by error, and each record is stored for six months from the time it was last updated.

The Data correction and reprocessing flow

You cannot delete a solution, stream, or Validate function if data exists in Data correction. You must first delete all relevant records.

Note!
When you use import and replace for a stream, it is currently possible to replace a stream that has a Validate function with active records in Data correction with a stream that does not have a Validate function. In this case, the existing Data correction records remain, but they are no longer linked to a Validate function in the new stream configuration. For more information about these limitations, see https://infozone.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DAZ/pages/1103003667/Importing+streams+in+the+UI#Handling-missing-functions-in-the-replacement-stream.

To see the number of records with errors in a stream, see Usage audit. The Data correction tab provides two view options: Summary view and Detail view.
