New Snowflake forwarder, refreshed branding, and more

New Snowflake forwarder, refreshed branding, and more

We have added five new updates to UsageCloud: a Snowflake forwarder for writing data directly to Snowflake databases, a refreshed look and feel across the product, trace output options for the Script and Data aggregators, an Advanced toggle in the Route function, and a new "From offset" collection method in the Kafka consumer.

New Snowflake forwarder function

The Snowflake forwarder is now available, giving you a direct way to write, update, and delete data in a Snowflake database from your streams. You can issue a single SQL INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statement, and the function supports three authentication types: password, private key JWT, and OAuth. For high-volume inserts, you can enable batching to group records into multi-row INSERT statements, with a configurable batch limit of up to 200,000 records per batch. This lets you load large datasets faster and more efficiently.

Refreshed UsageCloud branding

UsageCloud has a fresh new look, aligned with the latest DigitalRoute brand. The login page, forgot password screen, and top navigation bar now display the new logo along with updated colors and styling, giving you a cleaner and more consistent experience from the moment you sign in.

Trace output added to Script and Data aggregators

The Script Aggregator and Data Aggregator functions now support a trace output option. When enabled, a second output port is added to the function, emitting a copy of each input record tagged with the aggregation session it was grouped into. This lets you reconcile aggregate results against the source records that contributed to them, supporting detailed invoice generation, billing dispute resolution, and a complete audit trail of your aggregation logic.

Advanced toggle added to the Route function

The Route function now includes an Advanced toggle that opens a formula editor for building complex Boolean expressions using the same syntax as the Map function. You can combine AND, OR, and NOT operators with full parenthesis support to handle routing scenarios that previously required multiple conditions or a dedicated Script function. This reduces stream complexity. It also brings Route in line with the expression syntax used in the Map function and Data correction.

Kafka consumer collecting from a specific offset

The Kafka Consumer collector now supports a "From offset" collection method, allowing you to start consumption from a specific offset within a Kafka partition. This is useful for recovering from a previous stream failure or reprocessing a defined range of messages. Once collection has caught up to the latest message, you can switch back to the "New messages" option using the same Consumer group ID to resume normal collection.
