This chapter describes how to prepare and install the Platform Container. This is done in three steps:

  1. General Preparations which include configuration of the software environment and setting values for predefined parameters that may vary between installations. For further information, see General Preparations Platform.

  2. Database-specific preparations. Depending on the software you have, either Oracle, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, or Derby should be installed. For further information, see Oracle PreparationsPostgreSQL PreparationsSAP HANA Preparations, or Derby Preparations.

  3. Software installation. For further information, see Platform Software Installation.

  4. Post Installation configuration. For further information, see Post Platform Installation Configuration.

Hint!

This section covers a small installation with both Platform and EC in the same installation. If you want to make separate EC installations, first make a pure Platform installation and then refer to Execution Container Installation.
