With Execution Manager you enable, activate, and monitor multiple workflow groups.

The Execution Manager is made up of the three tabs, Overview, Running Workflows, and Detail Views. You open a Detail View tab for every workflow group, or groups, that you want to monitor.

The Filter button is present on both the Overview and Detail Views tabs and allows you to filter by name, by certain workflow states or by activation mode. You can only filter by name for the workflows that are in the Running Workflows tab.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab is comprised of the workflow groups table.

Workflow Groups Table

The workflow groups table provides you with information about all the workflow groups that are configured in the system. To see the workflows that are contained within the workflow group, you will have to open the workflow group in detailed view :

Column

Description

Workflow Group Name

The workflow group name.

State

The current state of the workflow group .

Runtime Info

Specific information about the workflow group state.

ModeIf the workflow group is enabled it can be activated by its scheduling criteria or it can be started manually via the Start button. If it is disabled, the workflow group can be started but it will not run any of the workflows or workflow groups within it.

Started By

The workflow group may have been started by one of the following:

  • Schedule: The workflow group scheduling criteria

  • A user

  • The parent workflow group

Start Time

The last time an execution was started

Next Run

The next scheduled execution time.

Note!

This space will be empty when:

A workflow group is not enabled.

A workflow group is enabled but has no schedule configured.

Next Suspend Action

The next suspend action is either the scheduled execution suspension of a configuration (workflow or workflow group), or the removal of such a suspension (activation enabling).

Actions
  • Start or Stop - Triggers the selected workflow group to execute or stop execution.
  • Open Detail View - Opens the selected workflow group in a separate tab.
  • Enable or Disable -Select to enable/disable the workflow group. Enabling the workflow group in the Workflow Groups tab will not enable the workflows or workflow group within it, you will have to open the Detail View and enable them manually.
View Abort MessageOpens an error dialog box that specifies the reason to aborting execution of the particular workflow group or its workflow member.

Running Workflows Tab

This tab displays the workflows that are currently running as well as the ones that are unreachable.

Note!

In this tab you stop a workflow clicking on Stop under the Actions column.

In the case you stop workflows that belongs to an EC-deployment, they will restart again by the Kubernetes Operator.

The Running Workflow tab table contains the following:

Column

Description

Workflow NameThe name of the workflow.
StateThe current state of the workflow.

EC

The Execution Context that the workflow is running on.

Started By

The workflow may have been started by one of the following:

  • Schedule: The workflow group scheduling criteria

  • A user

  • The parent workflow group

Start TimeThe last time an execution was started.

Debug

On or Off. Debug mode is enabled from the Workflow Monitor[hide]3.0[/hide].

Backlog

The number of files that are yet to be processed.

The value on Backlog is identical to the Source Files Left MIM value.

Throughput

This column displays the throughput for the workflow's collecting agent. The value shows either number of UDRs or bytes, depending on what the collecting agent produces, and is updated every five seconds as long as the workflow is being executed.

Actions

Stop - This will stop the workflow.

Detail Views Tab

The Detail Views tab displays the workflow group, or groups, that you select from the Overview tab.

Note!

Once the detail views are created, they will continue to be viewable in the Detail Views Tab until the view is deleted.

Clicking X on the selected view tab, opens up a dialog box to allow you to quickly hide or delete the view as follows:

The table on this tab contains the following:

Column

EnabledIf the workflow or workflow group is enabled it can be activated by its scheduling criteria or it can be started manually via the Start button. If it is disabled, the workflow group can be started but it will not run any of the workflows or workflow groups within it.
StateThe current state of the workflow.
ECThe Execution Context that the workflow is running on.

Prerequisite

A comma delimited list of the workflow group Prerequisites settings. See Members Execution Order inManaging a Workflow Group[hide]3.0[/hide].
