MediationZone includes an internal event broker, which is configured using the Event Notification feature. An Event Notification configuration is used to intercept MediationZone standard, as well as user-defined, events and alarms. This information can subsequently be dispatched to any number of target applications.
The Event Notification configuration acts as a filter that collects and streams events to any of the following target systems:
Log file
Database
E-mail
SNMP Trap receivers
MediationZone System Log
Additionally, the Development Toolkit can be used to integrate an external system with the Event Notification configuration, making such a system the receiver of MediationZone events. For more information, see /wiki/spaces/MD82/pages/3805906.
The following figure shows an example of Event Notification configuration usage:
Example of Event Notification configuration usage
A workflow collects data from a network element. If the connection is lost, Event Notifications can be configured to immediately inform the system administrator by mail.
