Description

New


Creates a new configuration that will be visible in a new tab. You can only create a configuration of the same kind as the one in the tab you are working in. To create another type of configuration, click the New Configuration button in the upper left part of the Desktop the Desktop window.

Open...


Opens a saved configuration that will be visible in a new tab. You can only open a configuration of the same kind as the one in the tab you are working in. To open another type of configuration, double-click on a configuration in the Configuration Navigator, or right-click on a configuration and then select Open Configuration(s)... .

Save



Saves the configuration.

After clicking Save, a dialog box opens. In the Version Comment text box, type a description of the changes that you have made, then click OK . This information will be visible in the Historical Configurations panel, for further information see the section below, The View Menu.

Every time you save a configuration, the system performs a validation of the configuration integrity. If the configuration is incomplete, it is saved as "invalid". An invalid configuration is either one that has not been fully configured , or one with an external dependency that is either invalid or missing. You identify invalid configurations by the red "X" on top of their application icon.


Save As...


Select to save the configuration with a new name.

Use only a-z, A-Z, 0-9, "-" and "_" to name a Configuration.

You can save the Configuration to a subfolder. Click the Toggle button in the Folder Selection dialog to toggle between displaying the folders with or without subfolders.

The only valid separators in a folder name are "_" or "-". If any other character is used as a separator, or if the Platform property mz.subfolder.enabled is set to false in the relevant pico configuration file, the Toggle button is disabled so that you cannot save the configuration in a subfolder.


Close

Select to close the tab that includes the configuration. If you have not saved the current configuration before clicking Close, a pop-up message will remind you to do so.

Change Password...

After clicking Change Password... , the Change Password dialog box opens.

Exit

Select this option to exit the Desktop.

If you want to change the Desktop user, select Exit and start the Desktop again. You can then log in with the relevant user name and password in the Login dialog box.

Set Permissions...


To set the owner of the configuration as well as read, write and execute permissions for the groups accessing the configuration. For further information, see 6.1 Access Controller.

Click to check that the configuration is valid.

References


Click to see the Reference Viewer listing references to and from the active configuration. The Reference Viewer includes the following tabs:

  • Used By: Displays a list of other configurations that refer to the configuration. For example: a workflow group that refers to a workflow.

  • Uses: Displays a list of other configurations that the configuration refers to. For example: a workflow configuration that refers to a specific profile.

  • Access: Displays the group of users that may access the configuration, and the user that created (owns) the configuration.
